Depart from US Airports on non-stop overnight flights to Iceland.
Early morning arrival in Keflavik, Iceland. Travel to the capital Reykjavik and enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city before check-in at CenterHotel Plaza located in the city center.
A day of leisure in Reykjavik.
Depart from Reykjavik for the wool center of Pingborg and on to Pingvellir, the seat of the ancient parliament, to the hot springs area of famous Geysir, to the magnificent waterfall "Gullfoss".
Visit Vik i Myrdal, the most extreme southern point of Iceland, the Black Sand Beach of Reynisfjara, and the arch at Dyrholaey. Add 2 major waterfalls on the return trip: "Skogarfoss" and "Seljalandsfoss".
Check in at Country Hotel Laekfur for dinner and overnight stay.
Time to hit the outside hot tub to round off a busy day.
You have the choice between 2 optional tour features:

Continue to Selfoss & spend time with Gudrun's family & friends.

Early morning flight to Frankfurt, Germany. Drive south along the Rhine River.
Enjoy wine tasting at a German vineyard.
Arrive in Heidelberg for a tour of the city and a traditional German dinner.
Overnight at Parkhotel Atlantic with views of the castle and river.
Follow the Alsace wine route; cross into France and proceed to St. Marie aux Mines, where the Patchwork Meet (Quilt Show) takes place.
Spend the rest of the day at the show.
Check-in at Hotel Chambard, a traditional French manor house, located in the heart of the Alsatian wine-growing area, in the charming village of Kaysersberg.
Dinner at the hotel in the traditional Alsatian Winstub Brasserie.
